KEY RETURN

Return all keys at the checkout. If an external key is lost, to secure the house, it costs about £275 to change two keyed alike locks and cut 6 new keys. Hand in any additional keys cut during the tenancy. How will you ensure everyone returns keys at the checkout? Leave it to chance?

 

REFUSE AND RECYCLING

You have agreed to leave wheelie bins and containers clean and empty. Take away last minute refuse. It costs a minimum of £12 to dispose of refuse e.g. one black bag. If a wheelie bin or container is missing or damaged replace it by the checkout from Warwick District Council  or we will charge you to replace it.

 

FINAL UTILITY BILLS

We will read the utility meters at your checkout. When closing accounts do not put future bills into the landlord's name. Inform the utility supplier to use 'The Occupier'.

 

GENERAL CLEANING

Clean to the original check-in standard. If you engage professional cleaners, check everthing in this guide is included. Unless specified, some companies may not remove limescale or clean e.g. wheelie bins, food waste containers, under appliances, inside cookers or replace a filter in a cooker extractor hood.

 

Your vacuum cleaner should be clean and empty at the checkout. You have agreed to keep the windows clean. Window cleaners, (for external windows) may need at least three weeks' notice.

 

Tip: Use an old toothbrush to remove mould between tiles.

 

It is our decision on what is fair wear and tear and what is excessive dilapidation. You may have to compensate us for the following, because they are NOT fair wear and tear: items not cleaned to the original standard, for example dirty wheelie bins; behind appliances and furniture; burnt on grease on cookers; greasy extractor hoods/dirty filter; dust and cobwebs; kitchen cupboard shelves, surfaces that are sticky to touch; limescale on kitchen and bathroom fittings, stained mattresses toilets; mouldy safety shower mats or curtains and stair carpet not shampooed.

 

CLEANING AFTER YOUR CHECKOUT IS A MINIMUM £36 FOR TWO PEOPLE CLEANING PER HOUR.
