CHECKOUT GUIDE
Follow this guide to help avoid paying compensating to us at the end of your tenancy. It does not cover everything, so please read it alongside the inventory. Guideline costs for additional cleaning, repairs and replacements are included, together with examples Fromm past checkouts.
If parents, friends or professional cleaners are also helping to prepare the property for your checkout, please ensure they also read this guide.
DO NOT LEAVE UNTIL CHECKOUT DAY:
1. MAJOR MOVING OUT
2. SIGNIFICANT CLEANING
3. DISPOSING OF REFUSE OR RECYCLING
UNFORESEEN PROBLEMS OFTEN ARISE AT THE LAST MINUTE AND CAN TAKE TIME TO RESOLVE.
Leaving cleaning to one or two people frequently reveals further issues once rooms are emptied, which can cause stress and rushed or incomplete work. This may result in compensation for additional cleaning!
If leaving cleaning to someone in your group who will not be at the checkout or a professional cleaning company, re-check the property at least two days before your checkout. Unexpected situations can and do occur.
YOUR CHECKOUT AND FINAL INSPECTION
We recommend AT LEAST TWO tenants attend the checkout. Those present will agree any compensation on behalf of the group. At your request and with our agreement, your checkout can take place before the final day of the tenancy. Request an appointment at least a month in advance and allow up to two hours. All personal belongings must be removed from the house and garden before the checkout. Your Inventory, tenancy agreement and the checkout form will be the basis of your checkout inspection.
Please point out any known damage (for example, broken lamps, stained mattressess, damaged furniture, burns or stains to stair carpets or curtains).
