CHECKOUT GUIDE

Follow this guide to help avoid paying compensating to us at the end of your tenancy. It does not cover everything. Read it alongside the inventory. Included are guideline costs for additional cleaning, repairs and replacements and some typical checkout experiences!

If parents, friends or professional cleaners are also preparing this property for your checkout please show them this guide.

DO NOT LEAVE TO YOUR CHECKOUT DAY ANY:

1. MAJOR MOVING OUT

2. SIGNIFICANT CLEANING

3. DISPOSING OF REFUSE OR RECYCLING

BECAUSE UNFORESEEN PROBLEMS OFTEN ARISE, WHICH CAN TAKE TIME TO RESOLVE.

Final cleaning may be left to one or two people, who find more 'horrors' as the house is emptied. This can create tension at the checkout and at the last minute jobs are abandoned or half completed. You then compensate us for additional cleaning!

If leaving cleaning to someone in your group who will not be at the checkout or a professional cleaning company, re-check the property at least two days before your checkout, because unexpected situations can and do occur.

YOUR CHECKOUT AND FINAL INSPECTION

We recommend AT LEAST TWO of you attend the checkout. Those present on behalf of the group will agree, if any, compensation to us. At your request and with our agreement, your checkout can be before the last day of your tenancy. Request your checkout inspection at least a month in advance. Allow two hours for the final inspection. Allow 2 hours for the final inspection. Remove all your belongings from the house and garden before the checkout. Your Inventory, tenancy agreement and the checkout form will be the basis of your checkout inspection.

At the checkout you should point out any known damage. For example, broken desk lamps, stained mattressess, damaged furniture and stains and burns on carpets and curtains.
