Guarantor Application Notes
Please read these important notes before
completing the Guarantor Application Form
1. Guarantor Requirements
A guarantor should:
a) Be aged over 21 and under 75
b) *Preferably be a homeowner
c) Have an annual gross income of at least £21,000
d) Have no history of Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVAs), County Court Judgments (CCJs), Bankruptcy or European/International equivalents.
2. *Non-Homeowners
We may accept a guarantor who is not a homeowner, if they meet all other criteria.
3. Application Review
Once your completed form is received, we will either:
a) Accept it or
b) Submit it to a tenant referencing company to confirm your suitability to act as a guarantor.
4. Four 'Contact' boxes at the End of Section 3 on Page 2
These should be completed carefully. Your 'Contact' will usually be a senior professional, such as a HR Manager or Accountant.
a) If applicable, please advise them that a tenant referencing company may contact them.
b) They should respond promptly within 5 working days to any request for information. Delayed responses can cause an application to fail.
5. First Box in Section 3 on Page 2
For 'self employed', 'retired' or 'independent means' the tenant referencing company may request evidence from an accountant or a self-assessment to confirm you can support this tenancy.
