Student group joint tenancies only require one TV licence for the whole house. Four students living separately in purpose built student accommodation, similar to your university room, would each need their own £169.50 TV licence - a total of £678.

External Steady Relationships

Will a steady become a frequent visitor to the house? How do you feel about contributing to the expenses of an extra person(s), who uses your house as a hotel? You didn't choose to live with this person. What if you don't get on or they keep using the bathroom when you are in a hurry? The people you live with are likely to have other friends they will invite back to your house, so make sure you are aware of the extras you may be signing up for.  

 

Live in Relationships

Avoid living with someone you're attracted to/dating. Unless you're 100% sure it's going to work for two years, do you need the stress and awkwardness of living with the person you used to date or worse someone where you both fell out? Your housemates may also not want to live with this situation.

 

Work Ethic

The people you live with could have an impact on your degree. Do they have the same work ethic? Want to live with people on your course who have similar academic interests? Will they be supportive during the exam period?

 

Your Group's Future in Our House

Will your group want to live together in our house for another year? If continuing at university or college, do you want the hassle of moving out all your belongings (and moving in again), deep cleaning this house, finding another 'perfect' house or new group member, because someone plans to leave next year?
