FIRST FLOOR BATHROOM

Neglecting to clean grout between tiles, results in the build up of mould. Condensation mould also develops on walls and ceilings, if room is poorly ventilated. Removing mould can be expensive. It may need treating, re-grouting and/or re-decorating. If shower safety mats are left wet they will go mouldy. Window blinds and curtains can be spotted with mould in poorly heated and ventilated areas.

 

Clean and degrease glass shower screen(s).

Clean bath mat and safety shower mat. Replace if mouldy.

Clean and degrease bath and taps. Clean around base of taps.

Clean toilet pan inside/outside (pipes at rear), remove stains.

Clean toilet cistern including underneath and any pipes.

Clean toilet seat/lid. Tighten screws on seat/lid if necessary.

Clean base of taps, sink inside/outside and pipes underneath.

Remove limescale from sink, bath taps and shower head.

Remove, clean and sterilise showerhead and screw back.

Unblock sink, bath or shower traps if blocked or slow running.

Clean, degrease and remove any mould/stains between tiles.

Vacuum and mop floor with a sterilising solution.

Move furniture, clean inside and out and floor underneath.

Bathroom cupboard? Clean inside/outside and any shelves.

Clean mirror(s). Check they are not smeared.

Clean windowsills, windows and other glass surfaces.

Wipe radiator and remove any cobwebs and debris from behind.

Wipe towel rails.

Remove any cobwebs and clean walls, skirting board and ceiling.

Check light(s) is working with bulb of the correct wattage.

Empty waste bin, sterilise and clean with soapy water.

Clean toilet brush and holder with sterilising solution. Replace if stained.

Clean extraction unit plastic cover on ceiling/wall.

Return furniture to original positions. See inventory photos.

Complete tenant repairs. See section in this guide.

Make a note of any damage and/or loss.

Toilet roll left for new tenants.
